I’ve Seen Lives Transformed Through Running the ALIVE Course

Dan Randall shares how he has seen lives transformed through running ALIVE at his home church in Lancashire.

At Life Church Lancashire, we are passionate about sharing the good news of Jesus and helping people grow into fully devoted followers of Christ. One of the most exciting ways we've seen this unfold is through ALIVE, a five-part video-based course that we ran last year that touched many lives.

Running the ALIVE Course

ALIVE was designed to guide people through a journey of faith, offering a fresh encounter with the post-resurrection appearances of Jesus. Throughout the year, we taught this series during Sunday services, diving deep into the Scriptures. Additionally, we held a follow-up event each Thursday, where small groups across the church gathered to watch the ALIVE film series, helping to deepen the discussion and reflections.

In addition to these regular gatherings, we wanted to make sure that even those not currently part of small groups or new to faith had an opportunity to engage with the course. We created a special space at our church building for people exploring faith or those who were curious about Christianity. This gave newcomers a chance to join a smaller, more intimate setting where they could learn and ask questions.

Transforming Lives

One of the most moving aspects of running ALIVE was witnessing real-life transformations. Ebony, a young woman in her 30s, visited our church for the first time during the ALIVE course. She had never set foot in a church building in her life. She was unsure about what church was all about and struggled with anxiety, especially in large crowds. But when she joined ALIVE, it provided her with a safe, welcoming space to explore the life of Jesus and his post-resurrection encounters. By the end of the course, Ebony made the decision to give her life to Jesus. We're excited to be baptising her soon, and she’s already become an active part of the church - joining one of our service teams and engaging in the life of the community.

Another incredible story is that of Carlotta, a young woman in her 20s from Spain who had just moved to the area. She too found herself drawn to join ALIVE and, over time, became more deeply involved in church life. We had the privilege of baptising her last year, and like Ebony, she has started her own discipleship journey - joining a small group and getting involved in the church community.

Impact of the ALIVE Course

These stories are just a glimpse of the impact that ALIVE has had on our church family. It hasn't just been beneficial for people new to faith; even those who have been Christians for years have been able to deepen their walk with God through these encounters with Jesus. The ALIVE course is a valuable resource for anyone—whether you're seeking answers about faith or wanting to explore your relationship with God in a fresh way.

We encourage other churches to consider running ALIVE, as it offers a powerful way to reach those who are searching for meaning and purpose in their lives. It's a resource that fosters genuine transformation and helps individuals connect with the heart of the Christian faith.

At Life Church Lancashire, we’re thrilled to see the fruit of this initiative - people coming to faith, being baptised, and growing into disciples of Jesus. We’re excited about the future and all that God has in store for those who take this journey with Him.
