HOPE-Together-Square-Medium   News Update
16 July 2020
Laurence-Video

Dear {recipient.first_name}

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up… (Ephesians 4:11-13).

It is amazing when the whole Church works together. During this season we have seen so many churches working in partnership together with local authorities and other agencies to support people in practical ways. As we return to different forms of worship in our church buildings, let’s keep looking outwards as we each exercise our different gifts to build the church.

In the past year we have been developing the Mission Champions idea – a person in every church who we will support and encourage as they equip their local church to make Jesus known with words and action together. It’s not too late to sign up for tomorrow’s webinar to find out more. Laurence Singlehurst will be talking about pathways to faith during lockdown, and everyone who attends will receive a free copy of our Mission Champions guide. We are thrilled that the Elim churches are among the many churches adopting the Mission Champions idea.
I look forward to seeing you on tomorrow’s webinar.

Roy Crowne
HOPE Together's Executive Director

You are invited…
You’re invited to tomorrow’s webinar from 11.00am – 12.30pm. Roy Crowne, Rachel Jordan-Wolf and Laurence Singlehurst will be talking about the opportunities and challenges of evangelism in lockdown, as well as sharing our vision to see a Mission Champion in every local church – someone who we will equip to encourage the whole church to make Jesus know with words and action. To sign up for the webinar tomorrow Friday 17th July at 11am email Ben Almond to receive details.

Prayer 2020 - Monday 20th July
As we watch the video above, which we made to explain what Prayer 2020 is all about, we are amazed how God has been at work making this a year we will never forget – a year when many people have been exploring the meaning of life for the first time. On Monday 20th July at 20:20 (8.20pm) join us on Facebook Live @HopeTogether or YouTube @HopeTogetherUK to pray for 20 minutes that God would give each of us opportunities to point people to Jesus.

HOPE in Uncertain Times

When the Covid crisis began, we joined forces with Biblica to create a giveaway booklet called HOPE in Uncertain Times to help people through this difficult season. We are thrilled to have the backing of the Church of England, Elim churches, the Methodist churches, Baptists, and the Redeemed Christian Church of God. As always we have priced this booklet to make bulk orders affordable. You can order copies from the HOPE shop for as little as 30p a copy. We would love you to use this top quality, 40-page, A6 booklet to give away with an invitation to join your church online or in person. If you are hosting a HOPE Space or Summer Fun Day, it’s a gift that visitors can take away. And because we know that some people can only be reached online, we’ve made an 8-minute film (above) to tell the same story. A 90-second promotional version is also available here. Please share this video or download it to show in your online services.
Hope-For-all-Website
HOPE for All online

We had just launched our latest HOPE for All magazine when the world went into lockdown. Undeterred, we have developed a website HOPEforAll.org.uk that aims to help non-Christians explore faith just as the paper magazines aim to do. We couldn’t wait to tell you about this, even though content is still being added. We hope this will be a place you can point friends to when they want to try praying, read the Bible for themselves or explore some of life’s big questions. Add a link to HOPEforAll.org.uk from your own church website so enquirers can take steps on the journey of faith and use the link in your social media.
Thatcham
Magazines for every home

Watch Baptist Pastor David Taylor explain how churches in and around Thatcham distributed Hope for All magazines to the 10,000 homes in their village. Contact us if you can use a bulk order of HOPE for All magazines – it makes a great talking point, an addition to a foodbank parcel or gift to visitors to your church in person or online. You can preview the magazine here.
Hope-Spaces-Website
HOPE Spaces

As lockdown began and research showed that many non-Christians were exploring prayer, we looked online and found that most websites about prayer were for practising Christians. So we began to develop a virtual HOPE Space online, where people can post their prayers and explore ways to engage with God in prayer. This special multimedia, interactive HOPE Spaces site will go live next week and includes a specially-made film that aims to help people experience prayer. Look out for the email next week announcing the launch of our virtual Hope Space.

If you are creating a physical HOPE Space in your church, an empty shop or in an outdoor space, there are ideas and downloads for six different prayer stations available on our HOPE Spaces web page… all you need to create a HOPE Space where people can engage with God. Order your HOPE Spaces prayer cards from the HOPE shop.

Talking HOPE

Talking-HOPE-LogoWe are excited to hear how HOPE Coventry has mobilised local churches to pray for every home on every street in the city. We will be hearing from Chris Edwards, Chief Operating Officer of HOPE Coventry, for a special edition of Talking HOPE on Monday 27th July, when we will be looking at how they have used their amazing Open Heaven prayer app. Join this ‘Top Gear of Christian chat shows’ with hosts Yemi Adedeji and Roy Crowne on Monday 27th at 8pm on Facebook Live  @HopeTogether and YouTube @HopeTogetherUK.
Amplify - new year start date!
Amplify-LogoThe Amplify leadership team have been praying and deliberating about re-shaping the coming Amplify year in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the implications on residential gatherings that could still be in place in September 2020. We see the first residential as crucial to galvanising the group, so we develop a strong network of young evangelists across the UK. Therefore we have decided to start the coming Amplify year in January 2021; it will run until July 2021. The full programme will happen but over a shorter space of time. For more information and to put forward a young evangelist you know please check out the website - www.advance2020.org/amplify
