HOPE-Together-Square-Medium   News Update
19 June 2020

Dear {recipient.first_name}

Manoj’s prayer above was filmed at the start of this year – before Covid-19 changed everything. As you listen to him praying, and reflect on what has happened over the past few months, it is amazing to see how God has been answering his prayers, and the prayers of so many of us: that hearts will be open to the truth of the gospel; that the barriers to people coming to faith will come down and hearts will be softened.

Join us for Prayer 2020 this Saturday 20 June 2020, praying at 20:20 (8.20pm) for 20 minutes… ‘that God will give many opportunities to speak about Christ' (Colossians 4:3 NLT).

Talking HOPE – stories to encourage you

Manoj Raithatha was one of three guests on Talking HOPE on Monday on Facebook Live – you can watch the episode again here. There are inspiring interviews with Manoj, 18-year-old Alice Pepper who is sharing her faith with other young people, and Danielle Campsall, who has given away 72 Bibles to people passing her home during lockdown. Subscribe to our YouTube channel @HopeTogetherUK so you don’t miss an episode, or join us on Monday at 8pm on Facebook Live @hopetogether. Guests on Monday 22 June include Lade Olugbemi from the Nous Organisation talking about wellbeing and mental health; Libby Arnold from Lincoln who will be talking about her work with young people and Kam Pul & Louise Yip from Accrington Community Church on using the Talking Jesus course online. (The Talking Jesus course is free to use online until 31 August. Find out more here.)
Magazines for prisoners

We are thrilled that the charity Junction 42 is giving the HOPE for All magazine to 32,000 prisoners, as part of a pack with Christian music CDs, a Gideons Bible, the daily devotional Word for Today and other resources. During the Covid-19 crisis, most of Britain’s prisoners have been locked in their cells 23 hours a day. The pack is a free gift to those who tick ‘Christian’ when asked to state their religion. Let’s pray that God will use this unique  opportunity.

Contact us if you can use a bulk order of HOPE for All magazines. You can preview the magazine here.
HOPE-Spaces-Logo-White-MediumHOPE Spaces – new resources
More than 1400 people have looked at the HOPE Spaces resources on our website this week. We now have five different prayer stations outlined, with downloads for you to use as you create a HOPE Space in your church or an empty shop, where people can engage with God. Do tell us how you use the resources or send us your ideas so we can share them with others. We have HOPE Spaces prayer cards and a special edition of Mark’s Gospel for you to give away from your HOPE Space.
Confidence rising in the struggle

HOPE’s youth director Dan Randall writes: ‘Young people are continuing to battle mental challenges at a much more acute degree than most of the rest of society in lockdown, and they are fighting the social injustices they see in front of them. But there is confidence rising amongst young people to share their faith and reach their peers for Jesus. Antone's story, above, is just one example.’
Summer Fetes and Fun Days

As lockdown lifts, let us know how you are bringing your community together. There are more than 50 ideas for virtual and socially distanced Summer Fun Days on our website – do tell us what your church does in mission this summer so we can inspire others.
Families and the church
Can the church reach a generation of under-fives and their parents? Could they be the missing link for church growth? These are the questions we are asking as we look at the Talking Toddlers research, which shows that 74% of parents with children under five have contact with a church. To join a webinar to discuss the findings of the report on 26th June 2020 at 10am, email Ben Almond to receive details.
