Christmas on your street

Christmas is a great time to reach out to your community and encourage your neighbours.

Here are a few ideas to make a difference:

Prayer: For people living alone, Christmas can be difficult. Offer hospitality or help – and ask if there’s anything they’d like you to pray about. Take this opportunity to communicate the true meaning of Christmas.

Sing carols: Many Christmas carols include lots of the gospel story. Try a Karaoke Carol night or go carol singing down your street – giving away a mince pie rather than collecting.
Christmas cards: Receiving a hand-written greeting is special – your neighbours will appreciate the effort.

Be creative: Do something unusual that will cause people to stop and look or think about the Christmas.  Every year one Essex lady makes an exciting window display in lights prompting which school children and families to stop and look. (Angel pic)
