News Update August 2017
Video
If you’ve been out and about in the countryside or in the garden this summer, you might have noticed that there’s a bumper crop of blackberries and other fruit this year. There’s been just right amount of pruning, rain and sun. It’s the same when we are making Jesus known. Only God knows if the people we meet are ready to respond to the gospel. We might be simply planting a seed, or maybe that person is ready to become a follower of Jesus.

Let’s be intentional – praying for friends and family members who don’t yet know Jesus. Asking God for opportunities to sensitively share the good news of Jesus. And being ready to serve and speak in Jesus name.

To help others in your church catch the vision for HOPE 2018, give away copies of the free HOPE 2018 brochures and show the video above as you prepare to get involved, making Jesus known as part of HOPE 2018.

Share-a-Meal-Logo-smallShare a Meal
The Share A Meal packs went to press today. This September, HOPE is joining with World Vision UK to bring communities together and to help transform the lives of children around the world. This is one way that you could celebrate Harvest this year.

The idea is simple: invite your friends, neighbours and colleagues for a meal and enjoy a great time together. Guests are invited to give the cost of their meal to Share a Meal - and help some of the most vulnerable children around the world.

Register now for a free Share a Meal pack
Taking part is easy. Simply click here to request your pack now. Your Share a Meal pack – with invitations, recipes and more – will be sent in the post at the start of September. More details here.
MA-LIVELogoMission Academy Live
The latest research commissioned by the HOPE Revolution partnership, shows that 13% of 11 to 18 year olds are actively following Jesus, praying regularly and attending church at least once a month. We long for these young people to take the lead in sharing the hope they have with their friends and family so the partners have devised Mission Academy Live – find out more here.

Christmas-Hope-coverMusic and magazines
Last year 100,000 copies of Christmas HOPE (left) were delivered to homes. Churches used the glossy mags to invite people to Christmas events. We are working on a Hope for Every Home initiative to provide top quality Christmas HOPE magazines for you to deliver door-to-door in your area. In September we will reveal the 2017 Christmas HOPE magazine for you to order. Tell us how many copies you might use. Contact Sue.Jennens@hopetogether.org.uk.
Journey to Bethlehem
Sports stadia, churches and pubs are bringing communities together this Christmas to celebrate Jesus’ birth using new resources from HOPE’s partners Bible Society, Sports Chaplaincy UK and Integrity Music. You can use the free carols booklet, with its 'JOurney to Bethlehem' theme, for door-to-door carols, a flashmob in a shopping centre or a top quality cathedral carol service.

CPO is producing matching publicity for your carol event. There’s a ‘Carol Words’ app for the words if you want to sing using your phone and iSingWorship will be providing backing tracks. Do let us know your Christmas journey plans!
