News Update June 2017

If there has ever been a time for hope, it’s now! In the past month our country has been shaken by horrific attacks and a horrendous fire. Many people are living in fear. It is great to see churches, and other faith groups, at the heart of communities helping to rebuild lives. That work will go on unseen for many months, probably years. Around 520 BC the Jewish people had a rebuilding task ahead of them and the prophet Haggai had to remind them of their priorities. As we prepare for HOPE 2018 his words ring through 25 centuries to Jesus’ followers today: “‘Be strong, all of you people in the land,’ announces the Lord. ‘Start rebuilding. I am with you,’ announces the Lord who rules over all… My Spirit continues to be with you. So do not be afraid.’ ”

New HOPE 2018 video
We’ve put together the video above to help you spread the word about HOPE 2018. You can download it here to share with your home group, church and groups of local churches. We have been writing to all the church leaders on our mailing list, asking churches to sign up for HOPE 2018. Sue Jennens (sue.jennens@hopetogether.org.uk) in the HOPE office is keeping in touch with leaders and HOPE practitioners to track what’s being planned. Get in touch with Sue to pass on details of the person in your village, town or city who we can contact about mission together in your area as part of HOPE 2018. Copies of the brochure 'Towards HOPE 2018' can be ordered free online or read it at ISSUU Hope Together.
